Dyrup acquires Plus Paint A/S, which operates the Plus Malergrossisten A/S chain

Plus Malergrossisten sells professional paints to the Danish PRO market, primarily own brand, and today operates six PRO centres located in Ålborg, Viborg, Århus, Vejle, Copenhagen and Esbjerg, where the chain opened a retail outlet in 2010. In addition, the Plus Malergrossisten chain operates a centre in Randers that is not owned by it.

The acquisition reflects Dyrup’s strategy of strengthening its position on the Danish PRO market. At the same time, Dyrup considers Plus Malergrossisten’s local ownership structure in the form of a franchise model to be a definite strength that supplements Dyrup’s own PRO centres.

Plus Malergrossisten will be carried on and strengthened as a separate brand. Under the agreement, the current owners will continue to play an active role in the operation of the chain. Plus Malergrossisten will continue as a separate chain with separate management. Dyrup’s acquisition will therefore not result in any noticeable changes in the day-to-day operations for either employees or customers of Plus Malergrossisten.

The Plus Paint Group delivered revenue in the region of DKK 60 million in 2009/2010 and a small loss after tax, partly reflecting the start-up in Esbjerg. Dyrup has been producing the chain’s own brand, +Plusserien, since June 2010.
